The problem is that Winrar nowadays can have issues extracting every file from an archive. It's definitely worth tossing it out for 7Zip.

I think a nice change would be making the drive rack vertical, and pulling out a drive from the rack will hold it instead to avoid the issue of it shooting back into the rack. Another nice QOL; Holding a drive allows you to left click for interactions - Inserting a drive into the console, placing a drive into a rack/box.

My masterpiece example of the VDR™ made in Paint.

Ehhhh... I wouldn't recommend Winrar anymore.

You need a DX11 compatible GPU. Not a VotV issue.

Man I really don't know then. I did find this: "D3D DEVICE HUNG errors mean that your GPU driver has crashed. Sometimes, rarely, it is a genuine driver crash but most of the time it is a result of Windows TDR (Timeout Detection and Recovery), which, if the hardware at any time does not respond within the default 2 seconds, Windows will automatically kill and restart the graphics driver."

If it's a laptop from 2011 then I'm leaning towards a hardware/compatibility issue. Possibly RAM if it's not a GPU problem. Sorry a solution couldn't be found : {

You need to extract it with 7Zip. Obviously it won't do anything if it's still in the archive.

I don't use the itch launcher, but isn't the whole point of it to download things from itch for you? If you're extracting manually - make sure you use 7Zip and place it in a folder on the root of your drive (outside of program files) .

Try re-installing DirectX: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=35

This is a troll dig spot next to Uniform. The pillars will keep growing until you break the original pillar at the dig spot. I can't remember exactly, but I think you'll need to break the rest manually - unless it's changed in 0.7.0.

You can access old versions by becoming a patron (the 15$ one I think) - drnose also made all versions downloadable on the prior anniversary of VotV (though it's possible he won't this time).

Yeah, since I made this comment I realised how useless the mop is now. Not only does it take 6 passes to clean a dirty spot (instead of the 5 previously) - but the sponge cleans everything much more efficiently now when you grab and drag it, compared to how it was prior to 0.7.0.

Just turn off physics damage in settings > E

You can sell them in an item box. I think you can also eat them, not sure about that one.

Use the executable in the main folder.

I imagine drnose knows about it already. He kind of had to rush out the most playable build of 7.0.0 due to the leakers, so he didn't have time to fix up everything.

Sending the signal off actually counts as getting rid of it now. I sent it in intentionally trying to see what happens and I still got the "GOOD" email.

+ the game wasn't developed with co-op in mind, so I imagine the game would have to be heavily modified to work in the first place.

Download 7Zip > set it up > go to the VotV archive you downloaded > right click > 7zip > Extract to "x"

You need to extract it first.

Sorry for the late reply, but what OS are you using? If you're using Windows 10/11 then you have Windows Defender. If you're on Linux, then VotV has some issues on Linux systems as far as I'm aware. I can't think of anything else besides joining the Discord server - that's one of the best places for troubleshooting.

Are you using 7Zip to extract the archive? If so, I don't know what could be causing this - possibly hardware related?

Try "regenerate data.sav" in settings. If that doesn't work - Go to your main drive > Users > Your PC name > AppData (click view at the top and tick Hidden Items if you can't see it) > Local > VotV > Saved > SaveGames and delete everything inside. Now re-launch the game and regenerate data.sav. If THAT doesn't work, then it's possible the game didn't extract properly.

Install the game on the root of a drive, where you see Program Files, Program Files x86, Users, Windows etc - not INSIDE one of those folders. Just create a folder called "VotV" put the extracted files from the zip in there, and then add an exclusion for that folder in your antivirus as UE4 can sometimes be pegged as a virus.

The crowbar is for breaking stuff, the hammer is there for a cheap solution.

If you got a tooltip saying something along the lines of "I don't want to sleep... I feel a presence" you need to check around the base and/or check the lockers.

Entities on the edge of the radar will often trip the alarm multiple times by going in and out of it's detection range. The colour of the numbers tell you when a new entity is registered, and when one leaves. Red = +1 Entity - Yellow = -1 Entity

As for plugs clipping through the floor - every plug-in appliance has a "Retract" function when looking at the base of the cord (where the wire is connected).

Try "regenerate data.sav" in settings on the main menu.

See solution 2.

Try regenerating data.sav in settings while on the main menu.

Don't know if you resolved the issue or not, but someone else recently posted about the same thing. You need to pull the fridge out and break the barnacle on the wall that's clipping into the fridge. There can also be a pile up of roaches under, or behind the fridge that cause the same issue.

A quick search mentions that outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause this issue (Search up a guide on how to use DisplayDriverUn-installer) - as well as Antivirus software detecting UE4 as a  virus, so try adding the VotV file in your exclusions. Also, on the off-chance it is - make sure VotV is installed outside of program files.

It's a good idea to buy drive racks to avoid stuff like this happening. That, or you can just use a trash can for free and easy storage :>)

Yep, just regenerate data.sav in the settings menu.

Good to hear that it worked. Glad I could help :>)

Never seen this happen before. The spot it keeps TP'ing you to is the debug teleport location if you get stuck, though this is only supposed happen when you press the "Num Del" key.

If you want to wipe your saves, you can find them in; This PC > Your main drive > Users > Your PC name > AppData > Local > VotV > Saved > SaveGames - If you can't see AppData, then click view at the top of File Explorer and tick  "Hidden items".

If you delete everything I'm guessing you'll need to regenerate data.sav in the settings menu when you launch the game.

It's an old facility that was likely once staffed by a dozen or more people, so having an on-site freezer would allow staff to stay remote for longer periods. And keep in mind that while we have the drone - they didn't have that luxury.

You need to extract it from the archive first with 7.Zip. We're in 2024 and people still don't know about extracting archives...

Download 7.Zip > Install and setup > Go to the VotV archive you downloaded > Right click > Hover over '7-Zip' > 'Extract to "/"

Your GPU is too old to play the game then.

The mop works fine for me. You might be looking at the uncleanable dirt and grime that is part of the base texture and not a separate overlay. (Hoping that changes in the full build)

I can't seem to change my resolution in 0.7.0a. Even changing to the lowest resolution (356x???) clicking apply, closing and reopening the game does nothing. I'm playing in 2560x1440 and in the config file all the reso lines are 1920x1080.
